Pine Crest Fabrics had an incredible time exhibiting at the Functional Fabric Fair Spring, held April 7-9, right in our own backyard at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. This show is always a cornerstone event for us, bringing together the brightest minds in outdoor, lifestyle, and activewear textiles. Between the inspiring conversations, we absolutely loved the snacks at the Italian bar and the specialty coffee bars, which certainly helped everyone perk up and power through the afternoon slump!
Our PNW-Inspired Booth & Bodywear Forum Highlights
At the Spring 2026 show, we debuted a new booth design inspired by the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. The space was crafted to reflect our commitment to high-performance textiles for athletes of all kinds. The response to the updated look was extremely positive, with encouraging feedback from both customers and other exhibitors. PCF was also recognized at the Bodywear Forum, where two of our fabrics were featured for their innovation in swimwear and 24-hour wardrobe materials.
“This season, we wanted our booth space to reflect our roots and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Seeing the positive reaction from our community was incredibly rewarding. We were also pleased that two of our fabrics were highlighted in the Bodywear Forum, which validates our team’s commitment to designing versatile, trend-forward performance textiles.”
– Jena Nesbitt, Product Strategy Director
Shifting Trends on the Show Floor. The fair is a fantastic opportunity to gauge where the market is heading by listening to the conversations our team has with brand partners and attendees.
“I felt there was a lot of focus on new technical and cutting-edge yarns, as well as more novelty activewear-driven brands—running, pickleball, hiking—as opposed to yoga and general athletics in years past.”
– Thomas Stratton, Fabric Specialist
“After nearly a decade in the textile industry, it is always great to see familiar faces and friends at the show.”
– Brent Centracco, Fabric Specialist
“Being newer to the textile industry, I appreciated the enthusiasm of the show attendees and learning about the new products they are developing.”
– Jaden Yordi, Fabric Specialist
“It’s wonderful to be able to share our hometown of Portland with exhibitors and attendees from around the world. Based on conversations at the show, Functional Fabric Fair is clearly the premiere destination for sourcing, networking, and learning.”
– Stacey Wiese Segal, Fabric Specialist
Education, Sustainability, and Circular Solutions We always appreciate the robust educational programming at the Functional Fabric Fair. The Sustainability Forum showcased fascinating new textile innovations, and the Day 0 Sustainability Workshop offered deep dives into the industry’s future. A major feature of this Spring’s FFF was the shift toward circular economy principles, and we are excited to continue pushing the envelope by showcasing our textile-to-textile recycling options.
“The Day 0 conference was a particular highlight this season. I enjoyed hearing directly from experts about upcoming environmental regulations, continuous sustainability improvements, and rapid advancements in fiber technology. It ensures we stay ahead of the curve and continue to offer our customers the cutting-edge materials they need.”
– Tim Sheils, President
Connecting Beyond the Show Floor More than just a show, this event is a vital time for the textile community to gather, share knowledge, and deepen our partnerships. On Day 1, we loved stepping away from the booth to connect with colleagues and clients over drinks. We enjoyed hosting a PCF happy hour at the nearby Spirit of 77 and later stopped by the Metropolitan afterparty to take in a beautiful sunset view of Portland.
“The Functional Fabric Fair remains a cornerstone event for Pine Crest Fabrics. There is no substitute for connecting face-to-face with our new and existing partners. The energy at this year’s show was incredible, reinforcing why this is simply the best time to collaborate with other leaders in the apparel industry. We are already looking forward to exhibiting next Spring again.”
– Tim Sheils, President
