About Belle D’Amour
Belle D’Amour is a women’s apparel brand inspired by French elegance and founded in 2015 by fashion designer Nicole Travert. Its collections blend modern femininity with bold character, offering glamorous swimwear alongside ready-to-wear pieces such as dresses, jackets, outerwear, and more.
Belle D’Amour collections are available online and at a Florida boutique, with shipping throughout the U.S. As the brand continues to grow, its garments are also expanding into additional retail stores.
Road to PARAISO Miami Swim Week
Being selected to present at the PARAISO Show — one of the biggest events during Miami Swim Week — is both a major opportunity and a real challenge. Nicole spent several years trying to secure a spot and was initially turned down. Instead of giving up, she kept working on her designs and building the brand’s presence until her persistence paid off.
“I tried last year and the year before to be on this show, but I was not approved because I was not known enough and not big enough. But I didn’t give up; I kept going, and when I came out with my completely unique collection, I was approved,” said Nicole.
The approval process considers a range of factors, including the brand, its collection, production location and capabilities, timelines, sustainability practices, and more. A brand’s website and social media presence can also influence the decision.
“They look at your website and all your social media to check how relevant you are. I guess they must have liked what they saw, and this year they approved me. Our brand became bigger than last year, and I guess it made a difference,” said Nicole.
Club Belle D’Amour Collection
To stand out among the many swimwear designs presented at PARAISO Miami Swim Week, a collection needs a distinct point of view. Nicole created a black-and-gold swimwear collection featuring elegant, bold silhouettes and eye-catching accessories — including top hats, canes, and high heels — that gave the presentation a vibrant, memorable identity.
“We wanted our customers to feel like they belong to something very special. That’s why we launched a limited collection and named it Club Belle D’Amour. When you have something that’s only for a certain number of people, everybody wants in — that was the idea. Everybody wants Club Belle D’Amour.”

Club Belle D’Amour features one-piece swimsuits designed to create the illusion of two-piece styles—an unexpected detail that gives the collection a distinctive look.
“My designs are completely different from others presented at the show. I used many details that make them special — this time, custom-made hearts and some closures. And the way they’re placed — one garment with one heart, another with three hearts. It’s completely different from plain tops and bottoms. My swimsuits are also suitable for every body type — I can put one on somebody who’s very skinny and somebody who’s a little bit more curvy, and it fits magnificently,” shared Nicole.
20 Unique Pieces in 40 Days
Because Nicole planned to present entirely new designs, she had nothing prepared before receiving her acceptance. Once approved, she had just 40 days to develop a 20-piece collection from concept to production, including custom-made accessories. She made it happen.
“I woke up one night between 3 and 4 a.m., and I had these thoughts in my head: I need to do something so that I will be remembered. I looked at all the other brands showing the same day as me, and I had a pretty good idea of what they do. My designs should be completely different. Then, of course, I couldn’t go back to sleep, so I went to my desk, got my coffee, put on my thinking cap, and grabbed my paper, pencils, and erasers. I put on my favorite music and started working. Where other designers work all year long, I did it in a month. It’s pretty cool, actually. Nobody could believe I did it so quickly,” said Nicole.
Success at the Show
Nicole reported an enthusiastic audience response during the show and significant growth on her new Instagram account afterward, along with many positive comments about the collection.
“I don’t think anybody else got whistled at, clapped for, and heard ‘Yay! Beautiful!’ more than we did out of all the designers who showed while I was at PARAISO,” Nicole noted.

Fabric Is Key
According to Nicole, fabric is essential to creating truly premium designs.
“To me, fabric is everything. If you don’t have the right fabric, you could have the best design, and it’s going to look like crap. When you start with the best fabric, then everything is uphill from here out,” said Nicole.
She spent considerable time searching for materials that deliver both a luxurious feel and the right fit. Nicole has been using Pine Crest Fabrics since 2018 and values the quality and technical characteristics of the fabrics, including their weight, GSM, and finish. For the Club Belle D’Amour collection, she selected Jewels Foil fabrics in Obsidian (Black) and El Dorado (Gold), along with Stretch Lining. She also used additional Jewels Foil colors in Belle D’Amour’s Vice Collection.
“I love the fabric from Pine Crest. I love the look of it, I love the content of it, and I also used it as lining. It’s very luxurious. I’ve even made some apparel with it, and a lot of people said it looks like wet leather. It has the exact weight and GSM I’ve always been looking for. And it’s very rich-looking.”
Premium fabric should not only look luxurious—it should also feel comfortable to wear. Nicole said models wearing pieces made with Pine Crest Fabrics specifically commented on how good the garments felt.
“Word for word, they told me, ‘Oh my God, I try on hundreds of bikinis, and nothing feels like this,’” shared Nicole.
Nicole chose Pine Crest Fabrics not only for the quality of the materials but also for the fast communication and responsive customer service. She especially values being able to reach the team quickly when she needs support.
“The convenience of being able to communicate with the Pine Crest team, whether it’s by email or by telephone, is priceless. With other companies I deal with, the only way to communicate is by email, and you have to wait 24 to 48 hours. That’s not business. When you need something, you have to be there and pick up the phone or answer your emails, at least within the hour, not 48 hours later. So that is very important to me: that I can call anytime or email, and I get a response right away.”
Future Plans: Scaling and Shining
The year 2026 has become a major milestone for Belle D’Amour. After presenting at Miami Swim Week and New York Fashion Week, the brand is entering a new chapter—expanding beyond its boutique roots and pursuing broader retail distribution.
“Right now, I’ve started communicating with other stores, sending them lookbooks and line sheets, and waiting for orders to come in so I can plan further production,” shared Nicole.

Nicole’s story shows how belief, hard work, and creative vision can help turn goals into reality, even after setbacks and failures. It also highlights the important role quality fabrics play in bringing premium designs to life.
