Eco-Friendly Fabric
Pine Crest Fabrics is dedicated to implementing sustainable practices in whatever we do. Therefore, we are constantly investigating eco-friendly fabrics to help reduce waste and make our world better in any way we can. That’s why we are so grateful to utilize Repreve®. We offer Repreve in many options, including base cloths. With billions of plastic bottles going into landfills every year, Repreve has paved the way to do something about it. And they’re doing it by focusing on eco-friendly fabric.
About Repreve®
In the textile industry, Repreve is the leader in performance fibers made from recycled materials. They transform recycled water bottles into amazing, high-performance fibers. These fibers are then used by name brands to make activewear and fashion apparel. Currently, Unifi, which makes Repreve, has recycled over 10 billion plastic bottles!
Their already amazing recycled process gets even better. Repreve can create properties like moisture-wicking, water repellency, adaptive warming and cooling, and more when they create the fiber.
Repreve even has the capability to test the garments that you make and give you the bottle count in your apparel! You can find, down to the bottle, how much you’ve helped in recycling waste that would have otherwise sat in a landfill.
As you can see, when learning about Repreve and its incredible mission, we were incredibly excited to see its ability to make high-quality, high-performing recycled materials that can be used in the activewear market.
Repreve® & Pine Crest Fabrics
Our Repreve Eco-Friendly Fabrics are ideal options for any activewear market. Plus, our recycled base cloths can be printed on to give you not only your perfect print but help the environment at the same time. You can even use these eco-friendly fabrics in swimwear, dance, gymnastics, and much more!
By the way, don’t let the word “recycled” fool you. Recycled polyester is just as strong as virgin polyester! With Repreve, it is one of the most certified, earth-friendly fibers available in the world. Because they ensure quality and reliability, these polyester fibers still retain those high-performing properties customers have come to know, love, and most importantly, expect. But the cherry on top truly is what they contain – recycled polyester yarns made from 100% recycled materials, including post-consumer plastic bottles, pre-consumer industrial waste, or a hybrid blend of both!
